RTG, Radiotherapy Training Game is an official application of the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital, designed to support pediatric patients (children and adolescents) during preparation for radiotherapy treatment.
This initiative was promoted by Gemelli ART (Advanced Radiation Therapy) to facilitate the start of radiotherapy, a treatment that requires patients to "remain still" for the duration of the therapy delivery.
The application is designed to actively engage young patients and foster a greater sense of control and predictability regarding the procedures they will undergo. Users can also use the app at home with family or friends, playing by trying to stay as still as possible. The mobile device's accelerometer detects movements in real time, helping patients train to maintain a stable position.
RTG, Radiotherapy Training Game does not store any user data and does not require an internet connection. The project was developed from the direct experience of Gemelli ART professionals, with the support of the Carla Fendi Foundation.
